Tanzania is home to two World Heritage Sites, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Crater is also hailed as one of the natural wonders of the world, an awe-inspiring sight that every traveller must witness at least once in their lifetime. This vast crater shelters an estimated 25 000 large mammals.

In northern Tanzania, in the eastern Serengeti plains, Olduvai Gorge is a 30 km (19 mile) ravine in the Great Rift Valley. Commonly referred to as the “Cradle of Humankind”, this gorge is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world and has been instrumental in furthering our understanding of early human evolution.
